This is the most common route to Tso Moriri that most people take to visit. The total distance is about 230km and will take about 7 – 8 Hrs. This is the most recommended route as the road conditions are far better than other routes.

However, due to its considerable length, it’s also the most time-consuming, requiring a minimum of 8 to 9 hours to reach the mountain lake. Along the way, you can explore two other pristine lakes, Tsokar Lake and Kyagar Tso Lake.

Leh – Upshi (47 km) – Rumtse (29 km) – Tanglang La (32 km) – Debring (15 km) – Tso Kar (31 km) – Sumdo (37km) – Kyagar Tso (23 km) – Karzok or Tso Moriri (20km) making it a total of 232 Km.
