It is true that a unique Inner Line Permit (ILP) is necessary to go to Turtuk. Turtuk is under the protected area category and demands an ILP from visitors because it is situated in a border region close to the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan. The Leh District Magistrate Office or accredited travel agencies are the places to get the permit. Before making travel arrangements to Turtuk, it is crucial to review the most recent rules and regulations.
The road from Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via Shyok can become damaged or shut down due to landslides and floods created by the melting snow and rains. The best choice is to travel back to Leh and see Pangong Lake as a day trip the following day. We will make every effort to locate a suitable hotel in Leh and obtain reimbursement for the Pangong Lake lodging (upon the hotelier’s determination becoming final). However, there will be extra fees for the travel that the consumers must pay out of pocket.
Only postpaid networks of Jio, BSNL, and Airtel work in Ladakh. However, most hotels provide Wifi so you can still stay connected.
BY FLIGHT
Traveling by flight is the most practical and well-liked way to get to Leh. The primary airport serving Ladakh is Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport (Leh Airport), which has good connections to important Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Srinagar. Many airlines have frequent flights to Leh, especially during the busiest travel period from May to October.
BY ROAD
Another option is to reach Leh by road. The two main road routes to Leh are:
Both road journeys are adventurous and offer amazing opportunities to witness the natural beauty of the region. However, keep in mind that these routes are accessible only during the summer months when the roads are clear of snow. Road travel to Leh can be challenging due to the high altitude and rough terrain, so proper acclimatization is crucial. It’s also advisable to check for the latest road conditions and travel advisories before embarking on your journey.
The summer months, from May to September, are the ideal time to visit Ladakh since the weather is beautiful and the roads are open. However, you can travel there during the winter (December to February) if you’re interested in winter activities or want to see the renowned frozen lakes.
This excursion IS NOT APPROVED FOR CHILDREN UNDER FIVE. Because of the high altitude in Ladakh, we advise against taking young children. Only kids older than five who are accompanied by their parents are allowed to go on the trip.
